Obama Building Himself Second Oval Office

Given that the nation is bankrupt, it is absolutely incredible that Obama is building himself a second “Oval Office.” Does his arrogance and lack of fiscal responsibility, his utter lack of shame, have no limits? Where is Congress and the media over this? You mean you haven’t even heard about this before?
This summer there will be two Oval Offices in the White House complex, and it won’t be a case of double vision.
In preparation for a major, two-year renovation of the West Wing, the government is undertaking extensive work to complete a new executive office for President Obama at the south end of the adjacent Eisenhower Executive Office Building, RCP has learned.
The president’s facsimile Oval Office, created as a nearly identical replica of the most famous ovoid room in the world, is slated to be ready for occupancy by August if Obama is ready to move and if design challenges are resolved. The build-out of the new “West Wing quarters” inside the Eisenhower building has begun, but unforeseen construction hurdles may alter plans for the eventual placement of the new office inside the EEOB, according to several knowledgeable sources.
The timing of Obama’s move to a substitute executive suite is in part dependent on the president’s readiness to begin working in the temporary quarters for what could be as long as two years, sources told RCP. The West Wing phase of a larger, $376 million project begun in September 2010 was put on pause through last year’s election, although funding and contracts were ready, the sources said. If Mitt Romney had won in November, Obama would have handed decisions about whether and how to proceed with the rehab project to his successor, they added.

The last few days (I THINK) has frightened him.
Maybe(?) I am adding 1+1 and getting 3 as the answer…but I will go on.
He is very fearful right now. So much so, that he pulled the surveillance Blimps from the Mexican/US Border to fly over Washington D.C.
He knows that the Military and a huge population of U.S. Citizens are not happy with him. The man must have a hard time sleeping with all the damage he has caused to our country. Can you imagine having over a million people angry with you; and what it would do to your psyche?

Only a million people? Probably a lot more than that.

Regardless of the number of ppl who might be angry with him, I cannot help but wonder how much he will use either of these offices. Mainly b/c he seldom spends time in the first Oval Office doing presidential work. Then he lays out $376 million dollars for a second Oval Office. This is NOT his money. This new office will be picked up by the taxpayers. Even though the cost is given in this article, I feel that it will cost more before it’s done. And even then, it’s questionable whether or not the money will be worth anything b/c the money that is currently being printed could be used in a board game.

I think this is what is called makework. It gives the impression of something positive happening.
Its’s all an illusion.

Obama did not initiate this renovation project. The General Services Administration did, during the Bush Administration. Where is Congress on this? Congress approved the funding in 2008.
Why are the renovations necessary? The overhaul is to the electrical wiring and the plumbing of the White House, which the GSA says are dangerous. While some have called this a “facelift” it does not involve any aesthetic improvements, only functional ones.
These renovations began in 2010. Why are they now suddenly an issue? Because the second Oval Office has now been readied for the final two years of the project?

So, a $350 million facelift? Why doesn’t budgetr hawk “Obama” save money by ending it? Pul-eeze.
